| There are a lot of beautiful RHD cars out there and schrauwens is a good example. That being said I have often wondered about the safety of having a bunch of RHD cars in a LHD world. For example: How is the visibility when passing on single lane road or highway? How is visibility when merging into traffic from right to left on an on-ramp etc? I am not sure that there is any real "safety issue" here - (I expect it is more a political issue). However, in Canada cars have been denied import for much less significant variations from their US model such as no daytime running lights, 2.5 mph bumper standard, lack of child anchors etc, so I guess it doesn't surprise me that someone in government has now tweaked onto RHD. "If the argument for DRL is safety how can we allow RHD?" or something like that. The guys that bought them rolled the dice and probably knew the risks so .... As for resale arguments - I think that they are false about the market being flooded and prices falling. The guys that want a clean LHD still want LHD. The guys that don't care don't care. Two separate markets. (Restricted access to the US certainly favours the value of LHD for example. If that is not an issue perhaps look at RHD etc.) I had a friend years ago explain to me that his Volkswagen Passat was "really" and Audi A4 but that he had saved "thousands of dollars" over the fools that paid up for the Audi. I feigned that I was very impressed at the time ;-)
